This amazing and original 1940 Buick Sport Phaeton has an amazing and storied past. The history is extensive and incredible. This Phaeton was sold new in Chicago and purchased by the owner alongside with 2 other Phaeton’s. Part of the interesting history of this car was it was loaned to Republican Thomas E Dewey for him to use in 1944 and possibly 1948 presidential bid to become president. Very early in this cars life it was repainted black because the owner did not like the original color of Sequoia Cream and having been used by someone that lost there bid for President. Only 230 of these magnificent cars were produced and 13/14 are known or thought to survive. This specific 81C is number 230 which makes this the last bodied 81C Phaeton.
